Rosalyn Roembke was born in Indianapolis in 1935. She was graduated from the University of Michigan in 1957 with a B.A., majoring in Philosophy with an emphasis in aesthetics. Aside from practical coursework in art, she gives the major credit for her painting education to the late Wilson Hurley, her husband of nearly 40 years.

Although she has interest in all painting subjects, the bulk of her works is still life, painted from life. She chooses arrangements of materials that relate to each other in casual or formal compositions. Since 2006 her still lifes have been done almost exclusively with painting knives. She has been represented in galleries in Santa Fe and Oklahoma City, has participated in the Albuquerque Museum Miniature Show since 1992 and has shown in several national or regional juried shows. She lives in Albuquerque.
